Alright it's about that time again, hope all of you had wonderful summers!

To those who graduated - April, Cedric, and Dani:
I will miss you greatly! It has been a privelege to watch you grow and mature!
Always keep your eyes on Jesus, and the prize of Eternal Life.
Wherever life leads you, and whatever you experience, never lose hold of who you are in God! You are special and unique in your own way, and I will always love you and am here for you.

To those heading back -
Another summer has come and gone, and it's back to school. Don't be ashamed of being a Christian, don't be ashamed to pray, don't be ashamed to stand up for Jesus. This school year there will be good days, and not so good days, but don't live for the temporary, but for the legendary! Love Ya'll and see ya TONIGHT!

To those starting out -
If you find yourself hitting Junior High for the first time, that is scary and exciting at the same time, but I am here to help you and support. More importantly God is ALWAYS with you! You are at the time where you are finding yourself in the world and discovering who you really are. Don't allow who the world wants you to be affect who God has called you to be! The choices you make now will effect your entire life, and also the life to come.

To everyone - Let this be your Anthem for the School Year 2010-2011:

Dare 2 Be Different!

Well Everyone as we have been talking about Daniel and Daring to be like him . . . we have to be ourselves, and who God has called us to be.
We don't live in Bible times or the face the exact same challenges Daniel did, but they are VERY similar. We may not face having to eat certain things, we may not have to interpret dreams, we may not be forced to bow beofre a 90 foot golden image, or deny our God, then again we may . . . but EVERYDAY I Dare you to be like Daniel - I dare you to be DIFFERENT!
The last few weeks we've gone through the first 4 Chapters in the Book of Daniel. Have ya'll noticed a pattern? Every situation . . . Every problem . . . Every Opportunity . . . Daniel follows what he knows is right, what he knows God wants Him to do. So I ask you to take a second and think before you act. Whether it's drugs, alcohol, parties, gangs, or sexual acts. If it's a mean word, a hurtful prank, or a nasty text message. Maybe it's a bad movie or an UnGodly song. Whatever the situation, DARE 2 BE LIKE DANIEL . . . DARE 2 BE DIFFERENT . . . DARE 2 BE WHO GOD CALLED YOU 2 BE!

Hey Ya'll! Happy New Year!
This year can be anything you want it to be and for me as your Pastor and leader, I want this year to be everything it can be for you. We got alot planned for this year - Easter Egg Madness, Summer Trip - THE RAMP, Fall Launch, and thats just a few - there's Lots MORE! Although those things are good, fun, exciting, ________________ (place adjective here) - my desire for YOU this year is that
1. You get closer to God - Desire Him More than Anything Else
2. You recruit others - Lead Your Peers and Family in the Sinners Prayer
3. You begin your ministry - REALLY Discover God's Purpose for Your Life

We all have things we are good at, those are called "talents" and we are to use them to glorify and magnify the Lord! This year look at every day as adventure to seek out more of Him and let your life reflect Him everywhere to everyone every second.
I love you and I'm here for you to encourage you and help you achieve the goals you have for your life - I had fun last week setting goals and talking about your futures - now I'm gonna keep pushing you to achieve the things YOU want to see happen in your life.

SURVIVOR - Week 6 The Survivor's Guidebook

Hey Ya'll!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry I'm a a day late . . . yesterday was CRAZY busy. Also please be praying for Pastor, he is having his eye surgery today.
Can you believe it's NOVEMBER!?!?! Just a couple weeks left to SURVIVOR: Finale Night (SPiN 180 Style).
Alright now . . . . this week's lesson . . . "The Survivor's Guide"

Nope.

No.
School Textbooks?
No Way
The Bible?
YES!
So . . . be studying these couple days cause you need to be up to speed on your guide.

God has given us His written word so we can study it and know his principles. He had given it to help us. It is suppose to be "a lamp to our feet" and "a light to our path" . It will show us which way to go, but the key is we have to use it.

SURVIVOR - Week 5 How to Protect Your Torch - PART 2

Hey Peeps . . . Hope everyone has been "Protecting Their Torches" this week!
We didn't even get to cover half of what I wanted to talk about on Protecting our Flames and making sure no one or nothing can blow out our flame for the Lord! So we now have PART 2 . . .
Everyone bring a candle so we can light them during our lessons this week.

Here are some ?s for this week . . . think about em . . . put some thought in it . . .

1. Are there things in your life that are keeping your light from Shining?

2. What are some ways you can avoid these things from blowing out your light?

3. Does your light stay lit ALL the time or do you hide/blow it out sometimes?

When you look around you . . . realize that everyone is a torch, but the reason our world is sooooooo dark is because almost everyone has chose to let their light burn out . . . or they have never been lit at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So when you look at people/torches look and see if they are burning and if not . . . go share your light and make this world a BRIGHTER place :) I Love Ya'll and am proud of the young people you are becoming.

SURVIVOR Week 4 - How To Protect Your Torch

Hey Ya'll . . .
Hope everyone has made contact with 3 of your contacts and ALSO called your phone buddy!
Remember we are a team . . . one for all and all for one!

So here's a short story/illustation. . .

There was once a rather pompous, self-righteous Sunday School teacher who was trying to make the point that good Christians don’t keep their faith a secret. So, with her head held high and her chest thrust out, the teacher strutted impressively back and forth across the room. She asked, “Now, class, why do you think people call me a Christian?”The room was silent for a moment. Then one of the boys slowly raised his hand and said, “Probably because they don’t know you.”

This week's lesson is "How to Protect Your Torch" . . .
We'll be talking about how well we represent Chrsit and what we can do to radiate the light of Christ to this VERY dark world.
We are to be in the world but we are not to be OF the world!

SURVIVOR Week 3 - Find a Tribe That Won't Vote You Out!

Hey there to all my kids!

This is the first of many blogs to come.

Tomorrow is Youth Night and we will be talking on finding a Tribe that Won’t Vote You Out!

I know a lot of times in life – it seems like you have to try really hard to be something or someone or you will be “voted out”

So that’s what we are going to deal with in our study . . . rejection, back stabbing, and the importance of accepting one another and making sure we have each other’s back!

Alright now . . . I know all the teams are wanting immunity so I’m gonna bring on yet another CHALLENGE – each week I’ll be posting 3 tough ?s – it is vital to your team that ALL members log on to the blog and post their answers to all 3 questions – feel free to be open and honest – that’s the purpose – also you can answer and then if you have something you want to ask anonymously, that’s cool to just post it also - but with no name.

I’ll also keep posting the pics from our gross out/team building challenges.

Anyway, this week is not mandatory since you only have 24hours – but next week it is a MUST. Well . . . here goes . . .

Closing thought: This is what SPiN 180 is all about accepting each other for who they are and encouraging one another to make that 180 turn away from sin and toward the Father, Savior, Redeemer!
